This was a fun recipe I tried last year. 🙂
I had Olivia as a great kitchen helper. She did accidently knock over the short bread crust and it broke into a lot of little pieces. We still made the pieces into some twix bars!
This year, I fully plan on making some more!
This is my recipe a slight variation of the common short bread mix. I found the basis on an old recipe card. 🙂
1 cup of butter
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
4 cups of flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
green food color
Mix all ingredients together and use enough food color to get the shade of green desired.
Spread out in a greased cookie sheet.
Poke a ton of holes then bake 14-18 minutes on 300.
Let cool then cover with melted caramel (a bag of caramel squares or a can of homemade).
Cool in fridge.
Cut in squares or logs.
Dip in melted chocolate.
Cool and serve 🙂
