Today, February 24th is National Tortilla Chip Day!
Are you a fan of this snack or meal? I really love it. If it were up to me I would happily have this for a meal at least one night a week. I can easy enjoy them with a salsa, a cheese dip, or just go out making a huge snack feast in a seven layer (or more) spread!
One of the best places I use to order a tortilla nacho platter was at a country sports bar down in Florida. For under 10 bucks it was easy to buy a pitcher of soda pop and the nachos. There was just so much a few people could easily enjoy it with the drinks. 🙂
How do you like your tortilla chips? I love mine covered in cheese, tomatoes, black beans, olives, lettuce, and a hint of sour cream!
Ideas to celebrate today:
1. Make a little nacho tortilla chip snack/ meal bar – allow kids to pick their toppings and experiment with taste and flavors!
2. Did you know you can tortilla chips in different colors and flavors? Have you tried any?
I have! I snagged a bag of guacamole corn chips once on major clearance (like under a dollar a bag). They were so good! It was a big disappointment when I went back to the store hoping they had more and it was a regular item they would keep in stock. Nope! Apparently that clearance had been a close out item.
3. Make your own tortilla chip – I haven’t done this one yet. I’ve seen where they have made them on some different cooking shows and it looks pretty fun. I WANT to try!
